Discipleship and Development Pastor

We have an opening for a Discipleship and Development Pastor

We are growing, we have outgrown the AMC theater, are now in our own building and as such have growing needs. God is working through One Missoula Church to reach Missoula. If you think God may be calling you to join the mission here, let's start the conversation!

Job Description

Discipleship and Development Pastor

Have you been praying for the freedom and resources to build the discipleship ministry of your dreams in a mission field that is desperate for the light and life of Jesus Christ? Are you a passionate disciple of Jesus Christ and competent professional looking for a challenging but rewarding role in the local church? If so, we want to talk to you.  Our young church has been faithfully establishing roots in our post-Christian context for the last five years and we are ready for you to bring your skills, gifting, passion, and experience into a church that is hungry to tangibly grow in knowledge, power, and impact.

We are asking God for an EQUIPPER OF THE SAINTS (Ephesians 4:12) who will OWN the design, optimization, and multiplication of a ministry that will grow people from estranged outsiders to fully devoted followers of Christ.  In plain terms, that means we are looking for you to implement systems, habits, and rhythms that give people clear next steps for growing in these key areas:
  • RELATIONSHIP: Knowing God as He has revealed Himself in His Bible (Hebrews 1:1-3)
  • APPLICATION: Integrating all of faith into all of life (James 1:22)
  • SERVING: Collaborating with each other for greater impact (Ephesians 4:11-16)
  • GENEROSITY:  Giving sacrificially so that others may find Christ and grow in Him (Matthew 6:19–21, 33)
  • MULTIPLICATION: Reaching the lost through complimentary attractional and missional strategies (Matthew 28:18-20)

Our ideal candidate would have:
  • A hunger to hang out with people
  • A heart to help the hurting, broken, disillusioned and confused
  • Experience making disciples, multiplying groups, and training lay leaders
  • Experience leveraging church ministry to grow volunteers into sold-out disciples
  • Education that conveys competence and engenders trust from skeptics you’ll be leading
  • A tenacious drive to overcome obstacles and solve complex challenges

If this strikes a chord in your soul, start the conversation with us by applying to this post or sending your cover letter and resume to apply@onemissoulachurch.com.

We are praying for you and look forward to hearing from you soon!

*Our staff salaries are not published publicly, so this detail will be discussed in a private conversation.  If you want to send your salary requirements in your initial email, that is understood and appropriate.
